White faces:  Some anconas, both red and black, can have what is known as breakaway in their faces.  This is where the white enamel from the ear is seen on their face.

Flyaway combs:  It is desirable for anconas to have a comb that follows the line of the head down the neck.

Floppy combs:  While it is perfectly normal for the female bird to have a flopped over comb, this is NOT a desirable trait in a male ancona.

Poor colour:  This is when the bird is mismarked according to the standard.

Poor type:  This is when the bird does not match the shape of the breed.

This interesting looking bird is an extreme example of a fly away comb.  Note how the comb is not following the shape of the neck, but pokes out straight from the back of the head.
