In the top photo there is a red ancona chick with a black ancona chick. The red ancona chicks have alot more red on their down. Some black ancona chicks have this colouratio. In my experience its much more intense in the red ancona chicks. The red babies also have colour showing in their wings as they grow.

The chick with the beautiful blue eyebrows is a black ancona chick. You can see that the black ancona has some red in its back, but not as much as the red ancona chick on the right. I coloured the eyebrows blue as the wee thing hatched out of an egg marked black ancona......................this was in the early days of hatching black and red and I wanted to be sure of which one was which.
